Hello there! I'm so excited to start this week! First of all today is the weekly EAD Designs blog hop..and second it's also the start of my Home Inspiration week! All week long I will personally be showcasing some wonderful EAD vinyl projects in my own home and giving you some ideas, tutorials, having a few guest designers and there will be lots of giveaways!
So let's get started! You can start the hop from the beginning HERE , if you came from Amy C.'s blog you are in the right spot!
Today I'm sharing a fun DIY project I made for my laundry room. It was pretty simple and pretty inexpensive to make..and looks great! You can personalize this depending on your style of decor, paint, etc.....I decided to go for a grey paint because all the cabinets in my house are white, so I needed some color! :)
Here's how I made it...
Grab your supplies: unfinished wood (craft store-$5 bucks), acrylic paint, clothes pins, paint brush, pattern paper, vinyl.
1st paint the wood (2-3 coats..letting it dry inbetween)..
Grab your supplies: unfinished wood (craft store-$5 bucks), acrylic paint, clothes pins, paint brush, pattern paper, vinyl.
1st paint the wood (2-3 coats..letting it dry inbetween)..
While the paint was drying I got the clothes pins ready by adhering the pattern paper to them using my ATG gun, then sanding the edges and excess paper off...
Once the paint is dry, I used my hot glue gun to glue down the clothes pins (first I marked where to put them with a pencil)..
Next apply the vinyl by rubbing it on..super easy!
I wanted the sock to stand out, so I first applied it to the pattern paper, trimmed around, I covered it in modge podge to stiffen it a little and then put it on a clothes pin..
To finish the sign off, I sanded the edges and applied some distress ink.
I hope this inspires you in any way!
For my sign I used the EAD-Single looking for a mate vinyl
And if you want a chance to win this vinyl so you can make your own sign just leave a comment on this post! A random winner will be picked on Sunday (6/19).
Ok, your next stop on the hop is to the lovely
Have a great day and I will see ya back here tomorrow for day 2 of my Home Inspiration week! :)
